WROXTON VILLAGE FETE: SUNDAY 26TH MAY, 2024 | 12 - 4PM - STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Wroxton Residents, We are holding another Breakfast Talk in Balscote Village Hall on Saturday 18 May at the usual time of 8.30 for a 9 am start. Our speaker is our Balscote neighbour Ian Haynes who will describe his 36 year career at the BBC, with all its ups and downs and weird experiences including the day the Taxman knocked on the door at the BBC, when I nearly got eaten by a lion, the day the BBC went bankrupt, finding a Chinese radar establishment at the Olympics and more if time will allow. Your breakfast is included in the £5 charge for a seat. Please can you email Laura on laura.robarts@yahoo.com, if you would like a place reserved for you. Message from Sarah Colbert
Thank you to everyone who came along to support our Wroxton Afternoon Tea! Extra special thanks to those who made the delicious cakes and/or helped at the event. We were really delighted that 9 students from Wroxton College came along and 2 of their parents. It was very interesting to chat to them and hear about their studies and experiences during their stay here. Their semester ends on 20th May so we wish them well for the future on their return to the USA. As ever, we received generous support for the chosen charity so made £86.20 for YoungMinds on the day with a promise of an online donation too. We hope to repeat this event in the future so if you were unable to make it this time watch this space! Message from Sylvia Wade
